A 3.98 ct rectangular-cut Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond by Moussaieff fetched HK$68,860,000/US$8,879,821. It was purchased by Harry Winston CEO Nayla Hayek who commented immediately after the auction “I am so happy to have been able to secure this rare blue diamond which will take a prominent place in our important collection of top gems”.
Christie’s Magnificent Jewels Spring Sale totalled HK$618,655,250/US$79,778,540. This season also featured jewels from iconic Hong Kong Jewellery Designers, Adrian Cheng, Cindy Chao, Edmond Chin and Michelle Ong. This section was 100% sold for a total of HK$96,125,000 / US$12,395,771.
The emerald and diamond Palmette necklace by Edmond Chin for the House of Boghossian achieved a world auction record US$6m for a selection of no oil Colombian emeralds.
