The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Commerce, organized the first India SAARC Iran Jewellery BSM in Delhi with 51 Indian manufacturers and 61 international buyer companies from SAARC nations and Iran.
The new initiative aimed to offer a gateway to a huge potential market, intending to further boost the bilateral investment and trade opportunities. The objective of the BSM was to invite key business decision makers and arrange one-to-one meetings with the prominent Indian Jewellery manufacturers from India, in an effort to develop new trust and understanding at a cultural, business & professional level and to explore future business opportunities that may occur as a result of these meetings.
The BSM had established interest from a mix of Indian Manufacturers- total of 51 companies, dealing in: Diamond & Precious Stone Studded Jewellery, Plain Gold Jewellery, Kundan Jadau Jewellery, Loose Diamond & Colorstones from various parts of India.
The BSM was inaugurated by the lighting of lamp by Chief Guest Shri Manoj Dwivedi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & other Guest of Honours Mr. Rajkamal, Director, Ministry of Commerce. H.E. Mr. Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, Deputy High Commissioner, Bangladesh; Mr. Muhammad Irfan Tarar, Minister for Trade, Pakistan High Commission & Dr. Nahid Rashid, Counsellor-Commerce, Bangladesh High Commission.
