According to the sources Jewellers have ended their strike after 41 days on Monday, April 11. Leaders from Delhi & Rajasthan met Piyush Goyal, the Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy in the Government of India & BJP President, Amit Shah with Fatehchand Ranka, President of Maharashtra Rajya Saraf Suvarnakar Federation & resolved to pullback the ongoing jewellers strike.
The unconfirmed news was spread across the India & jewellers opened up their shutters in Kerala, Chennai & Zaveri Bazar-Mumbai was reported. Absence of national body like GJF there was no proper information & many jewellers remained closed on Monday. Major jewellery players are opened new.
De facto even during the strike, numbers of jewellers never remained closed as they were supported the government policy. Many jewellers remained opened during the Gudi padwa in Maharashtra while Artisans of West Bengal-Babus kept them very busy in crafting Wedding Jewellery.
Section of jewellers are playing more politics than protest over excise! De facto jewellers have understanding that they have to opened up their stores until April 24, till governments direction further.(Inked & edited by Nayan Jani)
